Rains

It's been raining heavily for two days by now; weather forecasts promise rains with occasional thunderstorms for the nearest week. Yesterday the bus i was on (from S.P.S. to La Ceiba) almost got cancelled - the rumor spread the road is flooded farther ahead. Finally, we departed and made it to La Ceiba, but at times i wished we were on an hovercraft. Everything is wet and cold; with 100% humidity the clothes, once soaked, never dry; it slows me down. As far as photography is concerned, the constant showers stop me dead.
I was planning to get to Mosquitia, the most remote and unspoilt part of Honduras. However, now jungle hiking would be a survival test offering nothing in reward, nothing to justify it. More than that, all the ways in and out of Mosquitia are closed - boats don't run because of the storms, planes - well, it's definitely not the weather for flying. I might have to limit myself to Copan, the Mayan ruins, and leave the country - what's the point limping around like a wet spaniel, waiting for a sunny day, especially when i know there's not going to be one for weeks?
