Finally on the road
Oct. 5th, 2003 08:07 pmO.K., so the big move has begun. At moment i'm in Mexico, just returned from Teotihuacan (now say it 3 times really fast). Learnt to tell Tlaloc from Quetzalqoatl - hell knows what for.
Soon off to Guatemala - same landscape, twice as cheap.
Observed fiesta in progress - surprisingly sober, funny dancing. Yesterday went to see a concert on the main square - expected some folk stuff, got a 20 kiloton acoustic bomb of pop instead. It took me some to figure out why at least a third of some 5000 or so people were holding long cardboard tubes above their heads - those turned out to be home-made periscopes, a rather necessary gadget in such a crowd!
