A couple of weeks ago, in Tikal, i met a guy on a trail, who's clothing mainly consisted of wildlife photography equipment - and not too much of it either. He was the only one (not counting myself) among all those hordes and herds of tourists to actually look - and listen - around, searching the canopies for life signs. So i asked him where is he from. "Russia" - he answered. O.K., i'm equally accustomed to be the only Russian in a country and to meet my compatriots in the most remote and unusual places - but this one was clearly an exception. Professional zoologist, with more countries on his account then i'll have in the nearest 10 years and a spirit more adventurous then i'll ever develop, for hours he was forced to consantly answer my questions - funny, normally it's me who plays the lecturer part. We spent a day traveling together, then split - none of us really needed the other. However, i do suggest you visit his site: http://dinets.travel.ru - it's not only curious, but also quite useful; definitely more so than the shitty LP.
There're river turtles in the stream that flows through the grounds of my hotel; i think it's time i go and get a few of them on Velvia...
