Nov. 27th, 2003 07:07 pmI waited for a whole week (4 days netto time are wasted) to catch Dia Nacional de Garifuna in Livingston. Well, so the fiesta was awfully boring - just a lot of drunk garifuna dancing punta. Tomorrow i'm finally off to Honduras.
It was a strange night tonight - in the middle of it i was woken up by a rather loud roar. After some time in the jungle i could say for sure there's no animal that sounds like this - so my first thought was of some drunkard trying, with mixed success, to throw up. However, it continued for 20 minutes or so - to long for a decent puke - and the sound was different, more - well, predatory. Not unfamiliar though - it seriously resembled the voice of that mix of a cockroach with a lawnmower from "Alien". It ended with a scream - a man's scream - then resumed, then faded into distance. I do, therefore, believe it was yet another reality shift - some monster must have appeared from basically nowhere, had a late dinner and departed. Strange things happen on the road...
